DO’S AND DON’TS

BELOW MENTIONED THINGS SHOULD  BE TAKEN IN CONSIDERATION IF YOU WANT TO CLEAR SSC IN FIRST ATTEMPT WITH VERY GOOD MARKS-

1. Don't make Whatsapp Group for study-

I have seen people making Whatsapp Study group. First, I want to tell straight forward that Whatsapp se padhai nahi ho sakti. Many people may oppose my this advice. They will say or think that Whatsapp mai general studies ke bahut sare material mil jata hai padhne ko.. Some will say or think that Mathematics mai koi problem hai,wo solve ho jata hai and all that.. My friends used to make Whatsapp group and they used to send G.K. and other stuffs through Whatsapp. But I never joined any group. Because “Jitna time ap Whatsapp mai padhne mai doge, utna time mai ap General Knowledge ki book padh loge aur usse jyada sikh loge.” If even now someone doesn’t agree with me,then I can’t do anything in this regard. Do whatever you want to do. But according to me, Whatsapp se padhai nahi hogi ya agar hui bhi to bahut kam, time jyada waste hoga.

2. Having Girlfriend in life ;)

I am not saying that Don’t make girlfriend or If you have girl friend or boy friend then break your relation. I am just saying that Just see that If you have girlfriend or boyfriend, then is  it hampering your preparation for the exam? You have heard an idiom,” KUCH PANE KE LIYE,KUCH KHONA HOTA HAI”.

I am not saying that apne gf/bf ko chhor do. I am saying that Give less time to your boyfriend/girlfriend and give more time to your studies. Because after getting job, You can enjoy your life with your love mates. But you fail to secure a job then everything will be destroyed. I have lots of friends in towns preparing for SSC/BANK, they used to talk to their girlfriend for 3 to 4 hours and thus wasting their time. Sometimes, due to a small dispute between him and her, He can’t concentrate in his studies. He is still struggling for the job.

So, It’s better to decide first What you want in your life? Do you want happiness of your family or loved ones who are spending thousands of rupees for your study? Or Do you want to betray them ? In my opinion, if one have girlfriend or boyfriend, then he/she should be supportive. He or she should say ,”first make your life, take a government job and I am always with you J”. Because in today’s era, some people make girlfriend or boyfriend ,just for fun. They don’t think about their happiness. They just want to have fun. I hope you are getting my point. So, Please keep it in your mind.

3. Don’t be alcoholic.

According to research done by various scientists,”Having alcohol on regular basis reduce concentration. It will also hamper your study.

4. Don’t make lots of friends.

I am not saying that don’t make friends. Make friends but don’t be indulge with them every time. Make limited friends who will help you in your studies. When aspirants study in hostels or taking room in rent, they make lots of friends. The problem is that When you study, they come to your room and you started talking to them. Sometimes, they will say “chalo yaar ghum kea ate hai” and you go with them. It can be a obstacle in your way to your dream job. If you have friends ,tell them straightly that this time is for your studies. And You can go with them in evening to make mind fresh.

5. Do excerise on regular basis.

I am not saying to go to gym and all. A simple walking in the morning or evening alone or with friends is enough to make your mind healthy . You can spend one to two hours in the evening with your friends but only one to two hours.

6. People think that those who are selected in SSC/BANK, study 24x7 or for 10 to 12 hours a day. This is completely a myth. Selected students say  like this just to impress others. But some students really study for 10 hours.

But in my opinion, if you study for 3 to 4 hours a day with full concentration, then that time is enough to clear SSC/BANK within 6 months. But the time in which u study, should be only for study. It means that don’t use Whatsapp or facebook while studying. It reduces concentration. In short, If you study 3 to 4 hours daily on regular basis with solving practice sets for 2 hours and giving 1 hour to analyze set, then this (3+2+1=6 hours) is enough to clear the exam within less than 6 months. J

7. Make separate id in Facebook.

Make a separate id in Facebook .And Don’t make friends in that id. Just join some good groups of SSC like SSC NAUKRI, TARGET INTERVIEW GROUP, SSCTUBE etc. to get updates regarding exam date, preparation strategies and for tips. But again I want to clear here that don’t waste too much time in Facebook. Just see the updates of the group which is helpful for your studies. And then just log out. Don’t give more than half hour in it.

8. Many people think to commit suicide when they don’t clear the exam. I am requesting you all that Please never do this. I know you guys are listening sarcastic words from others when you are not clearing the exam. But never think to commit suicide. Life is precious.

If a person don’t clear the exams then it doesnot mean that He can’t do anything in life. Government job is not everything. Give your best  to achieve Government job. But if you don’t get a government job then You can do private jobs as well. I have seen people starting from very low position from private jobs and going to very high post with experience and with their hard work.  So, never be sad. Just be positive and give your best.

9. When I had started my preparation for SSC, I met some students who were extremely brilliant in some sections. Like I have met a student who had remembered more than 10,000 words from “OBJECTIVE GENERAL ENGLISH”. I also met a person who has completed General Knowledge by Lucent Publication completely by rote. That time I used to think that if these brilliant students are not able to clear SSC then How will I clear SSC ?

But in due course, I realized that If one is brilliant in one section (say in ENGLISH) and he is weak in others sections, then it doesn’t mean that he will clear the exam. For clearing SSC,One should have command over each section viz. Reasoning, Mathematics, English. I will not say about General Knowledge section because ye almost sabki weakness hoti hai :p . even meri v ye weakness hai. So no need to bother about it. I am not trying to say that one should be brilliant in each section. I am just saying that one should have command over each section. I hope you all are getting my point.

AT LAST, I want to tell you all that Just keep believe in yourself. There is no substitute for hard labour. Here hard labour doesn’t mean to study for 10 to 12 hours. Here hard labour means that one should study for 5 to 6 hours only with full dedication. Don’t listen to failure people who used to say that You can’t clear SSC/BANK.

Just keep believe and I assure you that you will definitely clear the exam. And that will be the slap on the face of those failure people. I also want to make clear that “Kewal suggestion lene se kuch na hoga. Un suggestion ko adopt karna hoga aur apna best dena hoga.” I also used to give suggestions to my friends, they listen to me and they do whatever I say to them for one or two week and again they stop implementing those suggestions in their studies. For example, When I tell my friends to read English Newspaper daily then used to read it for 1 or 2 weeks and they started saying that there is no use of reading newspaper. I want to tell you all that 1 ya 2 week padhne se na hoga.. Study continuously for atleast 4 to 5 months then see the difference in you by yourself.

All the very best :)

What to do in last a few days of SSC CGL Exam

Hello guys. Many aspirants used to be confused about what to do in last one month of exam. So this is what u should do in these remaining days-

1. Revise all the important chapters.

In these few days one should revise all the important chapters or the section in which one find difficulty. I will suggest to not to do experiment in these days. For example if one has completed chapters of math conventionally without any trick, then he should not start learning the tricks in these days. Because if one do so then he will become more and more confused during exam. This is what I call a experiment.

If one is thinking that without tricks one can't score good marks in mathematics. Then it is a myth. I never learnt any tricks. Conceptual clarity is must to score decent marks in mathematics. But if one has learnt tricks before then use those tricks in the exam to solve the questions in few seconds. But those who are novice in tricks ,should not start learning tricks in this short period. It will just worse the situation.

2. If one has not completed important chapters even for the first time till yet then I will suggest to complete those chapters asap.

I know many persons suggest not to read any new chapter in the last few days. They are right. But what about those who have not completed any important section even for the first time till yet.For example if one has not solved advance math till yet then the suggestions that he should not start new chapters, will not be applicable here because agar ap advance math ek bar v solve nahi kroge to ap bahut marks kho doge..

So I will suggest to first complete all the important chapters which u have not completed  as soon as possible. Then revise all the chapters.

3. For Tier 1-

Solve atleast 1 practice set daily of tier 1 and after solving do analyze it. Many aspirants ask why to solve practice sets daily. This is because It will help you to boost your speed and accuracy. It will curtail pressure during exam time. It will show what your weak sections are then work on those sections.

For Tier 2-

Solve 1 practice set of mathematics daily and do analyze it. Many aspirants ask why to solve practice sets daily. This is because It will help you to boost your speed and accuracy. It will curtail pressure during exam time. It will show what your weak sections are then work on those sections.

You can solve English paper in alternate days if u don't get time for the same. Then analyze it. Check whether you are able to complete the paper within 2 hours or not.

4. Keep calm.

This should be the guru mantra of Ssc Aspirants during last a few days. You will have to keep calm and patience in these last a few days. Meditation can help you to be calm. If possible do meditation for 10 minutes every day or take a small walk of 15 minutes daily in morning and evening.

Because during last a few days of my exam, I used to feel very pressurized. My heart used to pump very fast due to tension of the exam. I used to see bad dreams of Ssc. I know many of you are feeling the same right now. But to control such emotions, you will have to stay away from all negative thoughts. Just keep in mind that you will crack the exam this time for sure.

Well, a little bit pressure help you to achieve your target. Confused??How is it possible?? Let me clear it.. For clearing it Let me introduce myself.. I am a big shirker.. During my preparation days, I used to be very lazy.. I used to study but many a times " half hour padhte padhte nind aa jata tha wo v din mai. Bore hone lagta tha". Then I used to take a promise from myself then from the next day, I will study hard for sure. Then the very next day again I used to take promise to study seriously from the next day.. All of you know na "Kal kabhi nahi aata hai". Bus waise hi time nikalte jata tha. I know many of you must have gone through such situation for sure..

But during last 1 month of exam, the thinking that exam is very near used to pressurise me to toil hard. And for your surprise in these last 1 month of mine ,don't know how but "nind kaha chala jata tha.. padhai karne mai mann lagne lagta tha..bore feel nahi hota tha padhne mai.." In short, I used to start giving my best in these last few weeks and for me It became very fruitful for the exam.

I am saying so to prove that Pressure can be fruitful. You will have to change the way of pressure. It may happen that pressure can be the reason for one's failure if one is trapped with negativety. But it can lead you to success if you are positive and determined. If you keep in your mind and heart that you will crack the exam for sure then a little bit pressure will force you to give your best.

"Bahut jyada pressurise na hona.. meditation karo 10 minute ke liye.. It will bring positivety and calmness"

4. Stay away from whatsapp and Facebook.

I know it is a little bit difficult for guys who are addicted to it. But for 25 days You can keep a distance from these social networking site if you are anxious for your job. I am saying so because whatsapp and Facebook will hamper your concentration in these last few days. In your real life, you must have experienced it for sure. So please stay away from these things.

5. Keep a distance from your boyfriend/girlfriend in these last few days of Exam.

May be This statement may hurt someone's feeling who is reading it. I really want to apologize for the same. But try to understand my words.

I am not saying that Don’t make girlfriend or If you have girl friend or boy friend then break your relation. I am just saying that Just see that If you have girlfriend or boyfriend, then is it hampering your preparation for the exam? You have heard a idiom,” KUCH PANE KE LIYE,KUCH KHONA HOTA HAI”. I am not saying that apne gf/bf ko chhor do. I am saying that Give no time to your boyfriend/girlfriend and give more time to your studies in these last few days. Because after getting job, You can enjoy your life with your love mates. But you fail to secure a job then everything will be destroyed. I have lots of friends in towns preparing for SSC/BANK, Sometimes, due to a small dispute between him and her, He can’t concentrate in his studies. He is still struggling for the job.

I gave example of some of my friends because "hota kya hai na ki jab ap kisi se pyar karte ho to ap usko lekar kafi sensitive aur possesive hote hai. Apke paas abhi 20 se 25 din hai aur Agar man lo ki abhi apke aur uske bich thoda sa ladhai ho jaye kisi matter ko lekar ya phir uska kisi aur se ladhai ho jaye to isse kya hoga ..pata hai na.. isse ye hoga ki ap apne padhai mai concentrate nahi kar paoge..bar bar uska yaad aayega ya phir apdono ke bich hue dispute ko lekar tension hoga..isliye agar ap usse thode din bat nahi karoge to koi problem nahi hogi aur ap ache se padh payenge "

It’s better to decide first What you want in your life? Do you want happiness of your family or loved ones who are spending thousands of rupees for your study? Or Do you want to betray them ? In my opinion, if one have girlfriend or boyfriend, then he/she should be supportive. He or she should say ,”first make your life, study hard.. take a government job and I am always with you . Agar humdono thode din bat nahi karenge to koi bat nahi isse hamara pyar badhega :)”. So keep this in your mind.

6. Stay in positive environment.

That means stay far from negativity. During these last a few days, Stay far from those persons who are full of negativity, who are saying that Ssc is out of our hand. Stay in positive environment. Just keep believe in yourself and give your best. have faith in God and your labor.
All the best guys ...

Best Books for SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam

Books for the preparation of Ssc Cgl Tier 1-
During my preparation time, I consulted lot of books as there was no one to guide..After studying them, I became capable of choosing the best one..So,according to my point of view, these books should be consulted for Ssc Cgl Tier 1-

1. For Mathematics-

If one is comfortable in hindi then buy

(I) Ankganit by Mahesh Mishra(Sumitra Publication) (updated one)
In the updated version, advance math is also included.. It's an awesome book to build strong concept..
The only problem with the book is that it comes in hindi.

If one is not comfortable in Hindi then-

I will suggest to read Fast Track Objective Arithmetic(Arihant Publication)..Along with this book, you can read Quantum Cat by Sarvesh Kumar Verma .. Quantum Cat is very good book for strong concept.. Questions are given in three level i.e. Level 1,2 and 3.. But Ssc aspirants just have to solve Level 1 questions.. No need to solve Level 2 and 3.

2. For Reasoning-

No need to buy any specific book.. JUST practise all the previous sets of reasoning from Question Bank of Ssc. That's it.. You can easily score 40+ in this subject..

3. For General Knowledge-

Lucent General Knowledge and Arihant Gk capsule(very thin and cheap but very good book)
If u have time, then along with these books You can complete ncert books from Class 6 to 10(Only history, civics, geography and science).. But if u don't have time then above mentioned two books are enough to score good marks in these section.

4. For English-

(I) Ssc English by MB Books Publication(Read the grammar section and solve all the previous sets completely from this book to score very good marks in English..sara word meaning, antonyms, synonyms, one word substitution, idioms phrases sara yaad kr lo)

(II) Grammar by S C Gupta(Arihant publication)

(III) For improving Vocabulary, one may buy "Word power made easy" by Norman Lewis.. else you will have to learn by rote word meanings from Ssc English by MB Books publication..

(IV) A mirror of Common Error by Ashok Kumar Singh

For Practise sets-
Buy Kiran Practise Work book for Tier 1..and Solve all the 60+ sets and also analyze each set..
That's enough to clear Ssc tier 1
. All the very best

Motivational Tips for SSC CGLE Exam

Hello guys. if any of u has not started the preparation of  SSC ,the most sought after government job, then start your preparation asap.. if anyone is thinking to start their preparation now but feeling frustrated whether they will be able to prepare for the exam in this short period or not..then listen to me..

You have the capacity and capabilities to do miracles in life..our mind is very diverse and unique..if u think that u have to crack the SSC exam anyhow this time, your subconscious mind will start working on it and u will be amazed by the results of your firm determination..So start preparing for the exam asap with full dedication...

I personally know a guy who has cleared tier 1 three times continuously but was not able to clear tier 2.. he used to be very frustrated and i can feel his pain..he used to say that he can't clear tier 2..this negative thinking is ruling over his mind..but after spending time with him , I realized that he is very good in arithmetic..he can solve the questions without pen and paper..but I do realise that he is weak in geometry section..that is his weak point.. but the problem is that he doesn't make efforts to improve this section.. he always used to escape it.He is from hindi medium. So his English is weak..but he never try to make effort to improve this section.. I always used to tell him to please read newspaper daily and try to understand and grasp the meaning..But he never make such an effort ..

I am saying this all to suggest u all to not to escape from your weak section.. Escaping is not the solution.. ultimately it will lead to failure.. u will have to work over your weak section.. may be initially u will find difficulties.. and it may be possible that negative thoughts will start taking their seat in your mind..but never let the negative thoughts capture u..just think about the positive side..think that this is crucial time to make efforts.. after someday u will realise that u r gaining command over your weak section..

I am also from hindi medium..during my preparation time, i used to become very sad.. my English was also weak..but I always used to make effort without thinking about the past..and it helped me to score decent marks in English.. so it's my request to all that please dont lose hope..don't brood over past.. one thing more..

I have seen people becoming jealous when any other students of their locality get success in any competitive exam..dont be jealous.. jealousy and fear drain much of the power of your mind..so don't be jealous.. feel happy for them with a firm determination that u will also crack the exam and come with flying colours.

Just keep this in mind ,"when he can clear the exam, then I can also clear the exam".. because God doesn't do partiality.. he has given equal power to all his sons..but what makes a man successful is his firm determination and perseverance towards his goal.. so please be positive.. start working on your weak areas.. make genuine efforts.don't make excuses that "hum to itna padhte hai but hamara nahi hota selection"..this excuse will jUST console u for a moment..but such excuse breaks your positivity and determination.. So take a firm step to achieve your target.. dont fret over your past defeat..just give your best with positive mind set.. and always remember these words, "God help those who help themselves"..

Good Luck :)

Preparation Strategies and Books to clear SSC CGL Tier 2

As all of u know that Ssc tier 2 contents two papers viz. Mathematics of 200 marks(100 questions) and English of 200 marks(200 questions).. the time for each paper will be of 2 hours.. I had started my preparation of Ssc from scratch due to the fact that I am a village
guy and i have prepared for Ssc cgl from my home village only without taking any coaching because such facilities are not available here in my village. I am saying this to motivate those aspirants who are preparing for tier 2 exam by their own without taking any coaching and are scared whether they will be able to clear Tier 2 or not. I wanna say to all the aspirants "Yes,you can. Dont underestimate yourself. Just give your best and everything will be on the right track. There is no substitution of hard work. So, decide that u have to clear the exam and you will definitely clear it."

Preparation of Mathematics for Tier 2-

Lot of students will suggest you to read NCERT books or RD sharma book from class 6 to 10 to clear your concepts. I had also got the same suggestion in the initial point of my preparation and I adopted the same. But after 1 month or so, I realised that reading and solving NCERT or RD sharma books by own is taking lot of time. Also there are lot of irrelevant questions which is of no use from the point of view of preparation of SSC. And then I put aside those books. I am not saying that NCERT Books are not good. They are awesome books but they are made for academic purpose instead of Ssc preparation purpose. They are good for building concept but you find irrelevant things in them which will just waste your precious time. You just have 1 month or so for tier 2, so it's better to read some good books which is concise and will help you in cracking tier 2 exam.

If your concept is not clear in arithmetic or geometrical  portion of mathematics or you are stuck in some arithmetic or advance math questions then I will strongly suggest you to read  "Ankganit (Vastunistha Prashno ke liye) by Mahesh Mishra"(New Edition). I assure you that it will help you to master Mathematics of SSC in few days.  One of the main features of this book is that the concept given in the beginning of each chapter is very concise. The excercises given at the end of the chapter is awesome. You will find variety of questions there. Also explanation of the solution of each question given in the chapter is given very clearly. So I will also suggest to those aspirants whose concept is clear to please solve the excercise.

The only problem with this book is that it comes in hindi only. But i will also recommend this book to english medium students. Just complete it. But if one is not comfortable in hindi then I will strongly suggest those aspirants to read "Quantum Cat by Sarvesh Kumar Verma". What a great book It is.. The concept in this book is also awesome. After reading this book, you will master mathematics of Ssc. But this book is made for Cat exam. So I will suggest to read the concept from this book and solve all the excercise after each concept. Then solve Level 1 only from each chapter. There are Level 1,2,3 in this book. But you just have to solve Level 1 only. This book will definitely help you in scoring decent marks in mathematics.

Practising sets daily is the key to success in Ssc. Do practise 1 set daily of mathematics. And after completing the set, do analyze it that means to see in which questions you are finding difficulties in then write those questions in a different note book with complete solution. Also see which questions are taking time. Then try to clear the concept of those questions. Practising sets will help you to check your speed, accuracy and time. Time is the essential thing to clear any exam. Because one has to solve paper in the exam in the given time frame. If you can solve every questions of the exam but not within given time frame, then it is of no use. So do manage time in exam.

For practising set, you can buy sets of paramount or you can join their test series. But if you dont have access to paramount sets then solve sets from platform or Kiran practice sets.
Also complete all the previous advance mathematics questions asked so far. Because I have seen that ssc used to ask previous questions of advance mathematics with meagre twist .

Preparation of English paper-

Aspirants from Hindi or vernacular medium students are always scared of this paper. They always feel that they cant get good marks. It is just a myth that vernacular/hindi medium students cant get good marks. I want to give my example to motivate vernacular medium students. As i said earlier I am from a small village of Jharkhand. So there are not any english medium school here. I completed my matriculation,Intermediate and even graduation in hindi medium. But being a hindi medium student has never become an obstacle of mine in getting good score in english paper. My past tiet 2 english paper score are 157(SSC 2013 Cancelled exam),151(SSC 2013 Reexam) and 168(SSC 2014 Tier 2 exam). It's not very good marks but these marks are enough to get a decent post of SSC Cgl. I stated my marks to boost hindi medium students' confidence. Just believe in yourself. Anybody can score good marks in english irrespective of the medium he studied till graduation. But for improving english, one will have to be consistent in it. Perseverance is must if you really want to improve your english and to score good marks in this paper.

For improving english, I will strongly recommend to start reading English newspaper from today itself. You will have to read english newspaper daily for 1 hour. Daily means daily. From monday to sunday .every day... No excuses in this part. Initially you will find difficulties in reading newspaper. May be you will not understand it. That doesnt matter in initial stage. You just have to read newspaper loudly. "Jor jor se padhna hai". Try to understand whatever you can..(jitna samajh sakte ho,samajhne ki kosis karo). Gradually you will see that you are understanding the contents given in the newspaper. Aisha mat soch lena ki 6-7 din padha, improve nahi ho raha.. It takes time. Within 1 month or so, you will see the changes. You will see that your english is improving drastically. So reading english newspaper is must. English paper of tier 2 is very scoring. If you see and analyze Previous papers, you will see that 10 to 15 questions are asked from idioms phrases,20 to 25 questions are asked from active passive,25 question are asked from narration,10 to 15 question are asked from one word substitution and 10 to 15 questions from common errors.
About 80 to 90 questions are asked from these section. And with the help of little effort, you can easily score 90 to 100% in these sections.

Remaining sections are close test, para jumble, comprehension and sentence improvement. These remaining sections are also scoring one. But for scoring in these remaining section, you will have to understand english. You will have to increase your comprehension power of given passage. Reading english newspaper continiously will help you in getting decent marks in these remaining section. So tier 2 english paper is scoring one.

Now comes to book for english.. Buy "Ssc english by M.B. Books publication".. This book is must. First read all the grammar section of this book.. 30 page ka hi hai grammar section..But that 30 pages will boost your marks for sure. After comleting grammar section, complete all One Word Substitution and Idioms Phrases given in this book. After completing these sections, start solving previous 110 papers given in this book. Complete atleast 2 sets daily from this book. After solving paper, analyze it fully. Dekho common error mai kya error tha,wo error kyu tha..sentence improvement mai kis particular section ko improve kiya gaya..uska answer se reason dekho..one word substitution, idioms phrases sab yaad karo usse..in short analyze set thoroughly..also learn by rote all the words with their meaning given at the end of each set.. with the help of this book, you will definitely score decent marks in english.

For narration and active passive, purchase "How to solve" written by Ajay Kumar Singh of M.B. Books publication. It is a very thin book. With the help of this book, you can score 100% marks in active passive and narration section. Along with these 2 books,Purchase "Objective English" by Sp Bakshi(Arihant Publication) and complete all the one word substitution and idioms phrases given in this book. Also if u dont get "How to solve " book from book store then You can read Active passive and Narration from Objective English by SP Bakshi.

For commor error and sentence improvement, I will strongly recommend to read "A mirror of common error" by Ashok Kumar Singh. Read all the concepts and practice atleast 60 sets of common error and sentence improvement from this book.

For Vocabulary, Read Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. It will help you for a strong vocabulary.

If your grammar section is very weak then I will suggest to read Grammar by S.C. Gupta(Arihant Publication).

After doing whatever I said above will definitely help you in getting 150+ marks in english and even more.
There is no substitution of hard work. Never give any excuse to yourself ,"hamara luck kharab hai" We make our luck. If you labour hard in right direction then luck will be in your side.So labour hard and give your best.
Good Luck.

Preparation strategies and Books to clear SSC CGL Exam Tier 1

There are lots of books in book stores for SSC. They all claim that after reading those books, you will clear the exam easily. I don’t know the veracity of their claim. But I want to tell that When I had started my preparation, I have no one to guide me about books and strategies. So, I bought almost every book. I have 4 to 5 math books of different publication. But after reading those books partly, I realized that which one is good book and which one is not upto the mark of SSC. And then I started my preparation from the best book.  Books may differ from person to person. May be “Jo book maine padha hai, dusra banda jiska selection hua hai,ho sakta hai ki wo ye book na padha hoga”. But I have started my preparation from zero level. So, I think that  the books which I am going to tell here  will be beneficial for all.

For Mathematics- Ankganit   by MAHESH MISHRA(Sumitra Publication)(New Edition)

[Don’t buy the tricky mathematics by MAHESH MISHRA because it is not possible to learn every trick. Conceptual clarity is necessary which u will find in Ankganit by MAHESH MISHRA.](This book comes in Hindi only. So this may be a problem for those who are not comfortable in hindi.)

Advanced Mathematics is also there in the above book. So this book is comprehensive.

[In Advance Math,Try to learn every concept and theorem first and then start solving questions.] Solve every previous question given at the end of chapter.

FOR ENGLISH- SSC ENGLISH(MB BOOKS PUBLICATION) BY Ajay Kumar Singh

[This book is just awesome. The study material given in this book is very concise but it is best.] But yes, there are some errors in this book. But still this book is best.

Read everything from this book. There are about 110 sets(previously asked questions). Complete each and every set voraciously. That means that solve one or two sets every day from the book and then analyze it fully. For example, common error mai  answer and explanation ki help se dekho ki kaun sa part error tha ..reason kya tha uska.. Learn by rote every synonym and antonym asked in the sets. Also learn the Word Meaning given at the end of each set to improve your vocabulary and for SSC and try to use those words in your daily life so that those words will be in your mind forever. Ish book ka ek ek chiz padh dale…

Whatever I am saying ,It is my real experience.. So do try it..With the help of reading newspaper and with this book , I was able to score 170 marks out of 200 marks in English. So, believe me and go ahead.

If you are able to complete the above mentioned book fully then you can try ‘OBJECTIVE GENERAL ENGLISH’ by R.S. AGARWAL or GRAMMAR BY S.C. GUPTA or Objective General English by Sp Bakshi(any of these three) also. But first complete the above mentioned SSC ENGLISH BOOK.The most important thing to improve your English is to read english newspaper daily for 1 hour. Any English newspaper will do a lot. Initially Hindi medium student will not be able to understand the newspaper. But don’t lose your courage. Jo v samajh aata h,utna hi samjho.. But do read newspaper daily. Gradually you will see that you are able to understand English newspaper. Daily matlab har din padhna hai..Koi bahana nahi chalega.. Within 2-3 months of continuous study of newspaper, your English will improve a lot.. Reading newspaper will help you inCOMPREHENSION,CLOSE TEST,PARA JUMBLE,SENTENCE IMPROVEMENT ETC. I have seen people that 5-6 din newspaper padhe, kuch samajh nahi aaya to chhor dete h padhna.. Aishe nahi chalega.. Atleast 2 to 3 months chahiye.. So read newspaper daily specially for hindi medium students.

FOR REASONING-

This is the easiest section of SSC CGL. NO NEED TO BUY BOOK FOR REASONING. Just practice it from Kiran Sets. That’s it.. After practicing 20 to 30 sets, You can easily score 45 to 48 out of 50 in exam.

FOR GENERAL KNOWLEDGE- Lucent General Knowledge(available in Hindi and English both)

I was very dull in General Knowledge. When I had given SSC CGL 2013 Exam which was cancelled, I had got Minus 1 (-1) marks in GS section. So, You can imagine what my GS section would be at that time. Then one of my friends suggested to read Lucent. When I started lucent, I was learning everything by rote. That means mai pura ek ek chiz ratta mar raha tha.. Usse problem ye hua ki 1 se 2 page ratta marne mai mujhe 3 se 4 ghante (hours) lag jate the..thode din bad mai wo v bhul jata tha..then again my friend suggested me to Just read this book daily again and again..Usne bola “ratta mat mar.Kewal book ko har din padho.matlab ki agar mai aj 3 se 4 page padha to phir kal v ussi 3 se 4 page padhna hoga aur phir tisre din agla 4 se 5 page padhna hoga..phir one week bad sara ko repeat karna hoga.. (He said ,”don’t try to learn it by rote Just read the book again and again. Like if u r reading page no. 1 to 4 today, then revise this again next day,and after that next day read page no.5 to 8 and then again revise it next day and so on.. After one or two week, revise from page no.1). Actually whatever he said is on the basis of the research done by scientist which says that if one study like this, then whatever he read ,will be in mind for a long time. Then I did the same and I saw the improvement in me. This method worked very well and mujhe sara history ,civics etc. ish book se pura yaad ho gaya tha.. You will not believe but I want to share that I had scored -1 in GS section in 2013 CGL but due to this method, I scored 28 marks out of 50 in CGL in 2014. Now You can realize that I am not a unique guy. I am just a simple guy like you.. So,adopt this method and read this book. But you will have to study GS section every day..

If you have time, then you can also read NCERT BOOKS of Social Science and Science FROM CLASS 6  to Class 10. If you are able to complete these books then I want to tell You will surely get very good marks in GS Section. But If you have lack of time then Lucent General Knowledge will help you a lot. But NCERT books are best.

5.FOR PRACTICE SETS-

I have seen people vociferously saying “Mujhe paramount ki Practise sets dilwa do :P “ . I am not saying that Practice sets of Paramount is bad. It is a good set book. And their test series is also very good. But I want to tell that If you don’t have practice set of PARAMOUNT or You have not their test series, then It’s not a problem.  I and my friends have not practiced from Paramount.

For Practicing Modal Questions, You can buy “SSC CGL PRACTICE SETS OF KIRAN PUBLICATION, DELHI” . It is also a very good set book. At the beginning of preparation, I used to think,”Practice sets se kya hoga”. But gradually I realized that this is the one thing which will ultimately take you near to your success in SSC. Because when you start solving questions sets, then your speed ,accuracy will improve. It will also help you better for preparing each section of the exam. But the method to solving sets is –

FIRST, complete the chapters of Mathematics and make your concept clear. Also, complete  self study sections(given at the beginning) of SSC ENGLISH BY MB BOOKS.Then start solving 1 practice set every day. After completing practice set, analyze it completely i.e. see the question in all the sections  which you were not able to solve or find difficulty in solving. Write them down in separate note book. Also see the general knowledge section and see the explanation and remember them. Also, see common error, antonym synonym, Idioms and phrases, close test etc in English section. In short, to get the benefit of solving practice sets, It is mandatory to analyze set completely. If you have one or two friend and they are sincere in studies then you can solve Modal sets with them. It will make solving practice set enjoyable. Because solving Modal questions alone sometimes makes bore. But if you don’t have good friends I mean If you have those friends who just want having fun in life without thinking about their career and family, then it’s better to practice modal sets alone. I hope everyone is getting my point.

Some Myths regarding SSC CGL Exam(Part 1)

It is advised to read complete post and don't skip any point.

First of all, I want to introduce myself so that I can break some myths related to SSC CGL
Exam. I am Sagar Gupta from a small village of Jharkhand(A Naxal Belt Area). I am a simple graduate in B.COM. I have completed all my studies viz. Matriculation, Intermediate, Graduation from my village only. There is no English medium school here. So I have completed all my studies from Hindi medium school.

I am saying this all to break myths like (i) a hindi medium student can’t compete with English medium students.

When I was a novice at the beginning of the preparation of SSC CGL, I used to consult to “Bhaiya” who are preparing for SSC/BANK. They used to say,”Are yaar, Hum log hindi medium se h, English medium wale log se kaha compete kar payenge. SSC/BANK unke liye hi bana hai”. In short, the so called “Elder Bhaiyas” preparing for SSC/Bank will just demotivate you. One day I asked one of those Bhaiyas that What do u do to improve your English. One said “Kuch nahi”(nothing). Another Said “Newspaper kabhi kabhi padh leta hu.but sudharta nahi hai”. Here, I want to tell you that “kuch nahi karne ya kabhi kabhi newspaper padhne se kam nahi chalega”. You will have to labour hard to achieve anything in life. I am not saying that you will have to read 10-12 hours a day. I am just saying that in a day, give 4 to 5 hours maximum and that time is enough.  In that 4 to 5 hours, just study. I have seen people that at the time of study, they used to do whatsapp, talking with girlfriend etc. Wo sab karo but padhte time nahi karo.

Now comes to second myth (ii) A person who is living in a village and preparing from there only, can’t crack SSC/BANK.

For clearing this myth,I will give example of mine.My other friends can also be the example. Since my birth, I am living in my village only and cracked SSC CGL EXAM in my first attempt with good marks and without any coaching and also got a respectable Interview post. After completing my Matriculation, People started telling me “Go to town for further studies. Why are you wasting your time living here in village?. Yaha se kuch nahi kar paoge, kewal awaragiri karoge. Aishe aishe word sab log mujhe bolte the ki kya batau”  I have listened very sarcastic words and that time sometimes I became so sad. :’( But I never said anything to them because somewhere in my mind and heart, I had determined that I will show them all What I can do. And see in my first attempt, I cleard SSC CGL :D . And now those people appreciate me,”Beta, tmne to Kamal kar diya J “. In a nutshell, I want to say that labour hard and everything will be alright.

Now (iii) It’s time for the third myth.

This myth is almost stated by failures or the person who wants to hide their shirkerness towards studies. The failures always used to say,” Bhai, hamara selection nahi hoga..SSC mai sab setting se hota hai…aj tak 350 se jyada cut off kabhi gaya nahi..aur 2013 mai cut off 420 ho gaya aur 2014 mai cut off 426 ho gaya hai..Itna cut off hike ho jayega kya ..sab SSC  wale corrupt ho gaye hai..jinka selection ho raha h,wo log paise se selection pa rahe hai, wolog cheaters hai and all that“ .. I want to tell you guys that this is all ridiculous…

Do you know why the cut off has increased drastically? This is due to the demand for Government Job among students. In recent days, People want respect, job security and handsome salary and perks. And all these things are in Government Job. So, Even B.TECH. and MBA students and even BANK PO are going for SSC. Due to these things, Cut off has increased. So don’t be shirker. Don’t think that students selected in SSC are cheaters. It is their hard labour that is why they are there. Stop listening to those guys who say all those ridiculous things like “SSC wale cheaters hai and all that”. JUST KEEP BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND GIVE YOUR BEST J.

(iv)Forth Myth-

This myth is natural. Even when I had started preparing for SSC, I used to think the same. But in due time, I realized that this is also a myth. As I told earlier I am from a non-math background and simple graduate in commerce.  So, I also used to think in the earlier stage of my preparation for SSC that Now a days B.TECH.(Engineering students) and M.B.A. students are also preparing for SSC. They have good command over English. They have also good command over mathematics due to the fact that they have studied mathematics in 12th voraciously.  I am from a Hindi medium. So, competing with those guys will be a hard nut to crack ( a very tough task). But during the preparation, I realized that in SSC, Questions are not asked of engineering level and that SSC Mathematics is all about practice and accuracy. Also,SSC englilsh is not that hard. Initially, It will look hard. A vernacular/hindi  medium student like me, may think that I can’t get even 15 marks out of 50. But after adoption of the strategies and books which I will share later in this post, You will see the changes in you. If you don’t believe in me then I want to tell u that I have completed even my graduation in hindi. But now my English is “thik thak(so so )” to crack SSC English section.

IN A NUTSHELL- These are the myths which is nothing but a ridiculous thing-

A hindi medium student can’t compete with English medium students.A person who is living in a village and preparing from there only without any coaching, can’t crack SSC/BANK.SSC mai kewal corruption hai aur cheaters log ka selection hi hota hai isme isliiye cut off itni high gayi.B.TECH.(Engineering students) and M.B.A. students se non-math background wale compete ni kar payenge MATH and ENGLISH mai…
